Ithaca is in New York, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Getting around Ithaca is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. I cannot say enough good things about this place. What a treasure! We were there on a rainy day and it was still fun for the whole family-and free!

The Turtle's Ancient Equation There are creatures who measure time not by clocks, nor kings, nor calendars, but by tides that have rehearsed the Moon's embrace for hundreds of millions of years. A turtle is not merely an animal. It is a message carried intact through epochs when continents wandered like thoughts across the dreaming Earth. Long before the first poem, before language learned to name the stars, a shell had already become an elegant solution to survival— geometry persuaded into flesh. We often imagine progress as a rocket ascending from gravity. Yet wisdom sometimes travels more quietly, one deliberate footprint in wet sand, one patient stroke beneath a sapphire sea. Within those unhurried eyes is reflected the same universe that forged calcium in ancient stars, the same atoms that now compose your hands turning this page. To meet a turtle is to shake hands with deep time. Its heartbeat echoes a history that spans the rise and fall of mountains, the flowering of forests, the brief, brilliant arrival of a species clever enough to map galaxies, yet still learning how to cherish the small miracles beside its own footsteps. The Ithaca Children's Garden is an absolutely wonderful place to take kids! The garden is full of hands-on, interactive exhibits that allow children to learn about nature, gardening, and sustainability in a fun and engaging way. There are so many different areas to explore, from a sensory garden to a labyrinth, and kids can play and learn while they explore the beautiful landscape. The garden is also beautifully landscaped, with colorful flowers and interesting plants throughout. It’s a peaceful and relaxing place for parents as well, with plenty of benches and shaded areas to sit while your kids explore. The staff are incredibly friendly, and they offer a variety of educational programs and activities throughout the year. If you have young children, this is definitely a must-visit spot in Ithaca. The Ithaca Children’s Garden provides a fantastic opportunity for kids to learn, play, and experience nature up close. It’s a truly special place that both children and adults will love.

It's sad to see how neglected a nice a beautiful place can be. It's still nice see the plants, the sandbox, the big turtle, etc. But the general appearance is of is abandoned. The worst part are is what was supposed to be w playground with slides: the worst shape ever.

This is great place to take both young and old. The times I've been there have been very pleasent. The garden is nice to look at and all of the little things in and around it are entertaining. Children are often playing games or just walking through with their parents. I recommend the Ithaca children's garden to people with children in their lives and or just people that have an inner child.
